I based this work on the album In Waterland by musician Jodi Shaw. I tried to adapt certain lyrical passages to my painting process. Jodi refers to "Waterland" as the subconscious. I thought it would be interesting to create an overall aquatic –like image to reference an idea of the swimming in the subconscious.
