Riad Miah is an artist who was born in the country of Trinidad & Tobago. Riad grew up in the United States of America and received his formal education in the US and Belgium. He currently lives and works in New York City. Miahs work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including New York City, Chicago, Antwerp, and Budapest. His work was also featured at art fairs including SCOPE in New York City. Riad has been a resident at the Vermont Studio Center and Skowhegan School for Painting and Sculpture in Maine. He is the recipient of grants and fellowships from the NY Foundation for the Arts in painting and Germination Europe (Germany). In the past years of working as an artist, Miahs work has consisted of various mediums including drawing, painting, photography, print media, and installation. Riad has been taught at various school and universities including, Ohio State University, Parsons The New School for Design, and the New York Arts Program. Riad Miah spent one year of Post-graduate Research at Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten (Belgium) and has an M.F.A from Ohio State University and a B.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts.
